Students Are Human!

A student is also a person outside school

Students are used to suffering from a lot of stress at school. It's known that many health problems are related to being stressed, such as losing hair, losing weight, having headaches and, also, depression and anxiety. This shows that, even though students are being well prepared for academic life, they're not living life fully. For this reason, institutions need to find ways of helping teenagers and young adults so that they can be more productive at school and outside it.

One way in which schools can help is by integrating activities related to doing exercises or to different kinds of art into the curriculum. That way, either the student can release the stress while spending energy doing some sport or they can focus it on the creative part of the brain, which is used for logical and mathematical thinking all day. In my opinion, this is important to show the students their lives can't be summarised in few grades or in how good or bad they are doing at the school. Also, it's essential that the school teaches subjects that are going to be relevant to the student's life as well such as cooking, economics, paying taxes, politics, producing electricity rather than just making them memorise the dates of each revolution or math's formulas.

Another method is to give the students psychological support from professionals and from their tutors to advise them not to study too much and keep a good balance between school and their personal life. With that, parents should not only make sure that their children receive enough attention and have enough fun, but they have to be a part of their study routine too, helping them to build a healthy revision timetable, never exceeding their set amount of revision in one day. The students must study daily so that they don't feel the need for 24 hours of revision the day before their exams, because that will only make them tired and they won't succeed.

To summarise, I believe that both of these methods can help students; what is most important is to make them realise that studying is a big part of their lives, but is not their whole life. Having free time and saving a few hours per day to revise can help them release stress and live a healthier life.
