A Report on Working in a Hotel
Introduction
The aim of this report is to sum up the work experience programme in an international hotel chain, explain the problems faced and make recommendations for two changes.
Working for an international hotel chain
Working in a hotel covers a large number of tasks. One of them is to host the customers. The way that the employees welcome the guests has a huge impact on the hotel's reputation. Moreover, you may be asked to organise activities such as a yoga class or a cooking course. This duty depends on your expert skills. Finally, hotels usually provide a quality meal so you might be working as a waiter.
Problems faced
Most of the customers are eager to choose between more activities or services. For example, they would like to be able to rent a car directly in the hotel which, at the present, we do not provide. Furthermore, we should pay attention to the food that we serve. Several guests have said that the quality could be improved as well as the variety of the meals.
Recommendations
As a first measure, it would be a great idea to focus on the wide range of activities that we offer. This would considerably increase the reputation of the hotel if we added some activities. In addition to that, we could propose a new original meal with, for example, a theme every week such as « Food all over the world ». These two changes will have a direct effect on the number of customers.
