A Review- Gone Girl

A Book Review: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

The Thriller Gone Girl, which was written by Gillian Flynn, deals with the disappearance of a young lady, called Amy, on her wedding anniversary. The police suspect her own husband Nick murdered her because they found Amy's diary in which she describes her miserable marriage and accuses Nick of domestic violence. Nick discovers a hidden anniversary present and finds out that Amy has prepared a treasure hunt for him. The further he gets with the treasure hunt, the more he believes that Amy's alive and thinks that someone is playing a sick game with him.

Nick is described as a lazy husband, who is desperately looking for his wife. He finds it hard to tell the police the truth about where he was the night his wife disappeared and is in a dilemma. By trying to make the right choices he makes everything worse and gets even more suspicious.

Amy was born in a well-off family and helps Nick with establishing his own bar. She is shattered, because they are caught under financial problems and at the same time her husband loses interest in her.

In my opinion, Gone Girl is really ingenious and exiting because the reader gets confused by who's telling the truth as the story is written in both perspectives, Amy's and Nick's.

With every chapter, the story gets more and more thrilling, why it will stuck in the reader's head for quite a long time. And if you like psychological thriller, espescially those with a great plot twists, I would definitly recommend this book to you.
