A Restaurant Review - Goodfare
To be honest, yes, from the outside the Italian restaurant called Goodfare in Camden, London looks rather nondescript and is therefore quite an insider tip, as you would probably not recognise it while walking past. However, as soon as you realise what is hidden behind the doors, and you walk through the front door, you´ll dive into the world of Italy. Friendly staff will open the door for you, welcome and guide you to one of the tables. You´ll probably end up sitting in front of many wall paintings which show Italian rivers or villages. Frankly, the whole inventory with the old paintings, wooden chairs and tables looks more 'lived' than new, as the restaurant has existed since the 19th century. However, all this is not a criticism, it just makes the restaurant even more Italian and more authentic.
Risking a look at the menu won't destroy this image of the perfect Italian atmosphere either, as the restaurant offers a big variety of Italian dishes, ranging from sweet and savoury dishes for breakfast, to pizza, pasta and fish for lunch and dinner. But that's not it. A separate menu just for dessert is also available. So don't worry you can find something for everyone's taste.
Furthermore, the meals are delicious as they're all freshly prepared. However, this does not mean that you have to wait longer for your food than usual, no, it is more the opposite. I personally have never waited longer than 10 minutes for the friendly staff to come back with my order. Now you´ll probably ask yourself:' Where is the catch here ?' But I promise not even the prices are unreasonable.
So if you feel like Italian food now, give this restaurant a try, you won't regret it. But if you want to go for dinner you better be early or book in advance, as it gets really busy especially at the weekend.
