My Favourite City - Brussels
Brussels is one of the most energetic places in Europe.
Even though it’s not a big city, there's a lot of well-known things. Of course, the traditional foods are worth a try, such as waffles and mussels which are well-known to many people.
Brussels is interpreted as the centre of Europe because the European Union is based in Belgium. The more I know Brussels, the more I’m interested in this city.
Firstly, I'll mention art in Brussels. If you go there, you should wander around the museums and art galleries. Some of the museums are worth a visit. In particular, the instrument museum is stunning. When I went to Brussels, I came across this museum and it was breathtaking. I didn’t expect it to be. Actually, I had never heard of this museum before I went there. Of course inside of it is absolutely good. Moreover, the appearance of the museum is splendid.
To be honest, the museum is not known to tourist. It’s a hidden museum.
Speaking of art, Rene Magritte is a famous Belgian painter. Most of his pictures are kind of surreal, which can be overwhelming. For example, the most famous picture is a portrait without a face.
The Grand Place, which is the main square, is one of the most attractive places in Brussels. The square is surrounded by plenty of historic architectures. It is illuminated during the night. If you’re lucky, you’ll probably see some projection mapping. I’ve never seen it though!
Meanwhile, if you’re planning to go to Brussels, you must be careful. At the end of June, unfortunately, the place was attacked by terrorists. However, the place is a really attractive town apart from the terrorism. If I could speak Dutch, I would have moved to Brussels!
