My Favourite Sport
Since I was child I have always done some sports. I used to do tennis, flamenco dancing and ballet but just for enjoyment. Then I discovered rhythmic gymnastics, one of my favourite hobbies.
When I started to do rhythmic gymnastics it was gentle, we did it 2 days per week and the training was fun. We had two teachers, they were sisters. Mónica was soft, kind and a very nice person while Ana was the opposite, like good cop - bad cop.
I remember when we began to win the competitions everything changed. They increase the days and the hours. We trained 3 or 4 days per week and 3 hours per day. The first hour we used to do some ballet exercises then 30 minutes of flexibility training and the rest of the time we practised the choreography.
Perhaps the most amazing day in my life was when we won a gold medal in Madrid. We had competitions every weekend for 1 month. We were winning step by step until we lost the last one just before the end. Our teachers were really angry with us. So when we finally got a gold medal it was awesome. Two months after that I quit it because it is very difficult when you are still in school and you do a high-level sport, to get a good results in both.
I learned a lot about it. I think sport, it doesn't matter what kind, helps to make children stronger and more responsible. One important lesson is “fight for your dreams and work hard until you get them!!!
