The Tiny House
There was a woman who was sick of living in a tiny house with her family. She was constantly complaining to her husband and couldn't take it anymore. She decided to get advice from a rabbi in the city on how to get her husband to agree that they should move to a bigger house. "This house is tiny and hasn’t got any space," she complained to the rabbi. After listening carefully, the rabbi advised her to take a parrot they had outside the house into the house. She didn’t quite understand but the rabbi was a wise man so she decided to do exactly what he said because she was willing to do anything to get her husband to agree that they should move to a bigger house.
The house became even tinier and there was even less space. One week later she went back to the rabbi. "My husband still doesn't think we need to move to a bigger house. This house is tiny and has no space" she moaned. The rabbi told her to take the chicken from the hen house they had outside into the house. Again, she didn’t really understand but she trusted in the wise man. She was tired and willing to do anything to move to a bigger house.
She was going crazy with the parrot and chicken inside the house so after another week she went back to the rabbi. This house is tiny and has no space, she protested. There was a long pause. The rabbi thought and thought, and said that she should take the cow that he family had outside inside the house. She woman was shocked but this time she was sure she would get her husband to agree to move to a bigger house.
One week later she was completely mad. She couldn’t take anymore. She went back to the rabbi exhausted. "This house is tiny and has no space and I can’t stand the parrot, the chicken and the cow inside the house." "Take the parrot, the chicken and the cow out of the house" the wise man advised her.
So she did. When she took the parrot, the chicken and the cow out of the house, she was relieved and she enjoyed the space she had in the house.
