My Arabic Meal!

I moved here three weeks ago. My host family come from The United Arab Emirates. They don´t practise Islam, but they practise a monotheistic Abrahamic religion and they still like Arabic meals. I take care of two little girls. One of them celebrated her birthday last week so my special Arabic meal was for her birthday.

We celebrated in the host family´s big house. We had dinner about 8 pm. We celebrated with the family´s friends. They have a lot of friends, you can´t imagine! The birthday party started at 5pm and finished around 10 pm. All of us wore formal clothes. We even dressed our little dog!

We had for a lot for dinner for example; meat dolmas. Meat dolmas are generally served warm, often with tahini or egg-lemon sauce. We drank juice, milk, coffee or Ayran. Ayran’s primary ingredients are water and yogurt. I don´t mind Arabic meals and drinks but in my opinion most of the dishes are too spicy. I really, really, really miss Czech meals!
