Iranian Hospitality!

I want to tell you something about the etiquette of Iranian people. First of all, Iranian people are kind and hospitable, and always looking for an appropriate opportunity to have a banquet with their family, friends and relatives.

If you are invited by an Iranian person for lunch, dinner or a party you should arrive there on time and then the host will come to greet you, so you should shake hands and hug the host or hostess (women with women and men with men). You should take off your shoes before entering the house.

You should bring some chocolate, flowers or a nice gift. The host will treat you with some Iranian tea without asking you. You should wait for the others to start eating the food. You mustn't smoke in the house and also, you mustn't leave the banquet immediately after your food.

In Iranian culture, after the food they talk about their memories, watch a short movie, discuss some events in the world and some more discourse. They usually eat some nuts or goodies while they are discussing or watching movies.

Overall Iranian people have a very antique culture and are very loving and caring.
