Kimonos & Hakamas 👘 🎎
At a Japanese university graduation ceremony, everyone wears a traditional Japanese outfit and it is called a 'Hakama'. It's similar to a 'Kimono' but there are some differences. A Kimono can only be worn by women but a Hakama can be worn by men and women. A Hakama looks like trousers and a Kimono looks like a skirt. If you wear a Hakama, you can move more easily than if you wear a Kimono.
This is a Hakama.
This is a Kimono.
Kimonos are clothes which women wore in the past, but these days learning how to wear a Kimono has become popular; for example, my friend and my aunt are learning about it and there are many schools. Putting on a Kimono is not easy but if you can do it by yourself, you will be able to be a real Japanese woman (that's just in my opinion!).
Kimonos and Hakamas are Japanese special clothes. I'm really proud of these clothes and Japanese people should keep this beautiful culture. 👘 🎎
