My Favourite Festival in Bahrain 🕌💚😊

I’m going to talk about Gergaoun in Bahrain and we have a different name for Gergaoun in Bahrain which is “Nasfa.” I think all Arab Gulf states have this festival.

This festival happens twice a year. People usually go to each other’s houses and sing a song. The song is about giving money and god saving your children, some people give children money and some people give them sweets.

The first Gergaoun is held on 15 of Shaban in Islamic history and the reason is the birth of Imam Mahdi and he is the last Imam and usually people go to houses in the neighbourhood or any houses in the same village.

I remember my last Gergaoun in Bahrain. I took my cousins with me and we went to 20 houses at least and it was amazing.

The second Gergaoun is held on 15 of Ramadan and Ramadan is a good month for Muslim people. All people fast and the reason is the birth of Imam Hassan. Of course children usually go out in the evening because people are fasting.

People usually wear popular clothes for this festival and all people go out and all people know each other. This is my favourite festival because I go out with children and have fun 😊
