My experience in England! 💗

My experience in England

If I had to summarize my experience in England in a few words, it would undoubtedly be "unbeatable and special".

This is the third time I have visited the UK and it always leaves me happy memories. I started my classes at Golders Green College, approximately 8 months ago. The classes are great: the teachers, the staff that work in the College are attentive, friendly and professional, they always have the best disposition and willingness to help the students. Without a doubt I can recommend the institute.

In addition, the people with whom you share your classes are fantastic, my circle of friends has grown a lot and the most special thing is that they are from different parts of the world. They all come above all to have fun, so it's no surprise that three weeks later many of us have become inseparable as brothers and sisters.

Regarding accommodation, all the families that the college selects are very involved in helping you integrate and spend the best possible time. I had to share with a man who was born in London and with three more students. The truth is that for 8 weeks they made me feel at home.

Now we go to the most important and interesting part, the expensive underground, although with a student Oyster card topping it up weekly with unlimited trips is much more cost-effective. Your places to visit should include: St Paul’s Cathedral, London City Hall, The Shard, Borough Market, London Bridge, Bank of London, the Royal Courts of Justice, Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, British Museum, Knightsbridge and Harrods, Kensington, South Kensington and Chelsea, Portobello Road, Nothing Hill, Camden Town and the famous Beatles Street, Abbey Road.

There are many parks: Green Park, Hyde Park, and many smaller ones. There are so many other places too, the Royal Albert Hall and Albert Memorial, Piccadilly, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, the London Eye, Soho, Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, Mayfair, Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane and its Market, Backyard Market, Leadenhall Market, Madame Tussauds. Furthermore, theaters, cinemas and museums are a great way to learn the language.

As for gastronomy everything is summarized in English Pubs, Chinese restaurants and McDonald's, KFC, etc. A good recommendation is to eat in my favorite Nando's next to London Bridge, a chicken for two people to share with potatoes or other accompaniment and unlimited drinks, also with good views. Another good and very cheap place to eat in Chelsea is next to the subway station, The Chelsea Kitchen, traditional English food at reasonable prices. I have also eaten in English Pubs, I liked Nicholson's The Wellington I think it was called, going to Piccadilly, very good meat and potatoes.

As far as shops go, the best streets are: Clifford Street, Savile Row, Regent Street, Oxford Street, St James Street and Jermyn Street. Also the Mayfair area. In these places we can find renowned shoe stores and English tailors.

In conclusion, my experiences in England could not have been better and that is why I encourage anyone who is considering coming not to hesitate to take the step. You will really learn English by using it, and this program gives you all the facilities so that you can carry it out. And above all, you get an unforgettable experience 😊

In a next installment I will talk about some of the cities visited in United Kingdom…
