Noémie From Québec
My name is Noémie and I’m from Québec, the French part of Canada. I was born in a small city called Alma then I moved to another smaller city called Saint-Félicien where I was studying for two years.
My parents are still together and soon they are moving into a new house they have bought. I am as excited about the move as they are. I only have one brother who is older than me and is currently studying in a college. My mother works in a bakery and my father in a factory. They are both very hardworking and very kind and generous people.
At the moment I am working as an au pair in a family based in North-West London. I am taking care of two children, one little girl aged five years old and her brother seven years old.
I started studying English quite young but never learnt that much until I realised that I liked the language and that it’s very useful. Then I decide to do an immersion course in the United Kingdom and that’s the reason why I am working as an au pair and going to a college at the same time. Since I arrived here I have seen a big improvement in my speaking, my grammar and also my writing in general. I hope to go back to my country with a certificate of my English level.
I don’t have a lot of free time but when I do I often go out with my friends and do a bunch of nice things. If I had more time, I would love to go to the gym and start learning a third language!
