Technology in Our Lives

In my life, I use technology every day such as my laptop, TV, cell phone, washing machine and so on. Technology helps our lives, but I sometimes feel a decline in my ability to do things. I’m going to discuss computer technology.

The first thing I use every day is my mobile phone and I use it many times; checking emails, some social media, calls and chatting. Before I went to high school I didn’t have a cell phone. My mother didn’t buy a cell phone for me because if I had had a phone before going to high school, I wouldn’t have studied well and I couldn’t have passed the entrance exam. Actually, after I entered high school, I didn’t study well. I used to often chat with my friends, so I couldn’t concentrate to study. I became a smartphone addict.

Secondly, I graduated from university 3 years ago. After that I wasn’t used to writing a word by hand. Now I’m going to English school so every day I feel my ability is decreasing because I always use auto correct on my phone. I don’t have to think about English spelling so not surprisingly, I have forgotten how to spell! Not only English, but I have also forgotten Japanese characters, kanji.

On the other hand, computer technology is brilliant. If I don’t know the words and meanings I can search quickly and easily.

Furthermore, we can keep in touch with friends from other countries and we can use free calls.

All in all, computer technology is indispensable in our lives, but we are too dependent on it. We shouldn’t spend a lot of time on smartphones. In my free time I always use applications such as Instagram and WhatsApp. I probably can’t stop using applications every day but I’m going to try to limit my use of applications. We are controlled by technology, it’s a terrible thing...
