Why Should We Recycle?
As far as I am concerned, before forming an opinion on household waste recycling, we should learn about what recycling is.
Recycling is using materials which were used before and can’t be used again and then processing them into new products. Materials that can be recycled comprise all used materials which have the potential to be used again such as plastic bottles, pieces of broken glass or metals that are no longer needed or wanted.
These materials are reduced until we get raw substances in recycling factories. Thereafter, all these raw substances are used to produce new materials. All these processes are called recycling processes.
The benefits of recycling have the worldwide potential to affect us both socially and economically. Their main benefit is for the environment. The amount of harmful substances and wasted materials decreases thanks to recycling. The benefits of recycling are not just limited to those previously mentioned.
To consider recycling in more depth, we can classify the benefits of recycling into 2 groups:
Economic Benefits
*The use of raw substances decreases thanks to recycling
*Energy waste declines through recycling
*Recycling allows us to reduce the amount of wasted materials in heavily-populated areas. It has a gigantic importance for heavily-populated areas.
*Recycling provides new job opportunities by creating new jobs
*Recycling provides new products for costumers by processing waste and materials that can’t be used.
*Allows problems such as transport and storage of waste materials and garbage to be eliminated.
*Recycling reduces the amount of materials that need to be imported from other countries by converting waste materials into raw substance.
Environmental Benefits
*Recycling helps to reduce greenhouse gases
*Recycling allows us to reduce air and environmental pollution by reducing the need to look for new raw substance.
*Recycling contributes to the protection of minerals, trees and water resources.
*Finally, recycling contributes to the fertilization of soil with compost and fertilizer which are produced from household rubbish such as food waste. Thus, we can produce organic and nutritional products.
I believe that these are enough reasons to be convinced that recycling household rubbish makes a gigantic difference to our planet.
