Spain!
My county, Spain, is one of the most visited in the world every year. European people love it because is close to their countries but with good weather generally (Mediterranean climate), fabulous food, lots of activities to do, places to visit, nice people and it's cheap.
Spain is not a small country, so you can find big differences between north, south, east and west. I'm going to explain a little bit about this.
The capital is Madrid, in the center of the county. It's a beautiful city where you can find lots of museums, theatres, shops and interesting activities to do because it is the most important city. On the outskirts of the capital we have two traditional cities to visit and you can go from Madrid on an organized day excursion. Toledo is amazing because you can see lots of buildings from different cultures who lived there for lots of years (Jews, Muslims and Christians). In Segovia you must see the "Acueducto" a Roman construction which has been preserved. Also, you have to eat "cochinillo" (baby pig).
The Mediterranean coast is the most touristy area in Spain. Big beaches, sun and parties, which is something that English and German people love. Benidorm, Valencia or Barcelona are some important cities in this area. If you like having red skin, go there without sun cream! It is very popular see European tourists in this situation. The typical food from here is "Paella". Everyone knows what it is, rice with seafood or meat. It's delicious!
In the south we have a lot of cities; Sevilla, Malaga, Cadiz, Granda... These are warm places and if you go there you should go to see "flamenco" dances or a guitar concert.
The north of Spain is totally different from the south. Lots of countryside, nature, big mountains, beautiful Atlantic beaches and also good gastronomy. Everything is green since it normally rains more there than in other places. If you go there, I recommend to everyone visiting little towns and villages (in the mountains and also by the sea) and trying the fantastic food there; very good fish, seafood and meat.
And finally don't forget the islands. The Balearics in the Mediterranean sea and the Canary Islands on the African coast.
I hope that one day you can go to visit my county, not only for the places and the food, but also to get to know Spanish people who are normally very friendly and funny. I'm sure you'll like it!
