The Lion King
If you enjoy musicals and you want to see one of the best, you should go to The Lion King. Yesterday was the second time that I saw the musical. My first time was in Madrid, but now, after going to see others here in London such as Wicked, Mamma Mia, Aladdin and An American in Paris I decided to go with Misa and enjoy this amazing performance in English and in conclusion, The Lion King is my number one musical. One of the things I love about it is that it transports me to my childhood because this Disney film used to be one of my favourites and I have seen it lots of times.
The story is about the life of Simba, from his birth until he gets to be the king of the savanna. He is a lion and all the characters in the story are animals like giraffes, zebras, monkeys, etc. It's set in the African savanna and during the story we can see different scenes. Also, like in all musicals we have a bad character. This time it is Scar, the uncle of Simba. His objective is to get power and be the new king but Simba tries to fix this problem since Scar is the worst in the world.
One of the things which makes this musical very popular and famous is the music, the dances and the scenery. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Hans Zimmer, Elton John and other composers. The choreography is based on African dances that is something that I love. And the scenery and costumes are fantastic, very colourful and with a lot of details.
This musical is enormously entertaining, and I recommend everyone to go and enjoy it. I'm sure you'll spend a little bit more than two hours inside of the African world.
